Naomi Whitehead (née Washington; born 26 September 1910) is an American supercentenarian who is currently the oldest known living person in the United States. Her age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Naomi Whitehead was born as Naomi Washington in Georgia, USA, on 26 September 1910. She married Sylvester Whitehead. The couple had three sons: Parrish L. (1933–2011), Elbert, and Sylvester Jr.
In 2011, when her last surviving son died, Whitehead resided in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
In September 2020, Whitehead celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. At the time, she had 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 49 great-greatgrandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Some of Whitehead's hobbies include cooking, baking, drawing, listening to music, and telling stories. According to her grandniece Gwendolyn Smith, Whitehead has told stories that her family have never heard about before.
Whitehead currently lives at St. Paul's Senior Living Community in Greenville, Pennsylvania, USA, at the age of 114 years, 167 days.

Whitehead became the oldest known living person in Pennsylvania after the death of Lenara Carey on 22 August 2022.
Whitehead's age was verified by Robert Young, Waclaw Jan Kroczek, Ilias Leivaditis, and Oliver Trim, and by the GRG on 17 March 2023.
Whitehead became the last American person born in the year 1910 following the death of Anonymous of Arizona on 24 January 2024.
Whitehead became the oldest known living person in the United States, following the death of Elizabeth Francis on 22 October 2024.
Whitehead is currently the oldest validated living person in the United States and the oldest validated living African-American person.
